On January 3rd, Luci attended the Woolsey Baptist Missions Conference. For years, Woolsey Baptist has included Fayette PRC in their annual conference and given us an opportunity to meet with their people and describe our services. During the conference Pastor Steven Chambers and staff member Elizabeth Highsmith presented Luci with a check for the proceeds from the Woolsey Baptist 5K for Missions. Luci is shown with Steven and Elizabeth. On Sunday, January 7th, the last day of the conference, Fayette PRC Nurse Manager Niki Mixon spoke to a Sunday School group.

First Baptist Church Peachtree City featured Fayette PRC at their Missions Dinner on January 10th. Proceeds from the dinner go to the ministry that is featured that evening. Luci had an opportunity to share about our Center, Georgia’s March for Life and Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. She is shown with the daughters of Denby and Preston Heard, three adorable pro-lifers wearing their “Little Feet” pins!

We are so grateful for a group of women from McDonough Road Baptist Church who came to help us prepare our Gala sponsor packets for mailing.  Thank you ladies!

On January 15th our Center was closed in honor of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King was an American Baptist minister and activist who became the most visible spokesperson and leader in the Civil Rights Movement. He was not a champion of “reproductive rights”, but rather a man who believed in the human rights of all people — including the Unborn.

During the week of January 22nd both Fayette News and The Citizen published articles about the contributions to local charities by Ladies on Spokes. We are grateful to have been chosen to receive their donation and appreciate Fayette PRC Volunteer Tia Boyce for connecting our ministry with Ladies on Spokes. Luci is shown receiving the check from Tia.

On Wednesday January 24th, Phyllis Avrit spoke at the women’s lunch and learn at Grace Evangelical Church. Phyllis enjoyed sharing about her life journey and her vision for founding Fayette PRC in 1994.

Thank you to Jane Stoakes, one of the team leaders for the Women’s Enrichment Ministry of Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church, for inviting Luci to speak on Friday, January 26th at the WEM At Home Retreat. We are grateful for the opportunity to share about our ministry and for the baby shower items donated by the ladies. Luci is shown (in red) along with volunteer Margaret Penrod (in front of Luci) and the WEM leadership team.

Pastor Doug Johnson and his wife Carol of Heatherwood Baptist Church in Riverdale made one of their frequent visits to the Center on January 29th to bring children’s new outfits for our Clothes Closet. They brought with them Mary Ann Carp, who had made some beautiful baby blankets for us. We learned that Mary Ann is on the Lovejoy City Council, and we applaud her service to her fellow citizens in Lovejoy and thank her for taking time to bless our babies! (L-R, Mary Ann, Carol, Doug).
