We were delighted to have the twelfth-grade girls from Fayetteville First Baptist Church led by Rose Harris visit the Center for a tour and prayer during Disciple Now Weekend. The consensus after the tour was that the girls learned a lot about the development of babies in the womb and other pro-life issues. (Picture attached: Rose is shown on right with other leaders and students.)
On March 8th, Luci spoke to the Golden Harps of Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church and enjoyed fellowshipping with them during their delicious pot-luck dinner. Attendees were glad to hear about the broad array of services and the impact of Fayette PRC in our community. (Luci is shown with Jane Stoakes, who arranged for Luci to speak, and Guy Beckman, president of Golden Harps.)
March 9th and 10th marked our very successful Spring Volunteer Training Class. Various FPRC staff and volunteers participated in presenting an overview of our services and basics of volunteering at our Center. Luci and Nurse Manager Niki Mixon (in rear) paused for a picture with the participants.
On Monday, March 12th, Nurse Manager Niki Mixon traveled to Pregnancy Resource Center of Maryville, TN, to ride along with the nurse on their mobile medical unit.
On March 14th we were blessed with a donation from the Busy Moms Bible Study of Providence United Methodist in memory of Joshua Trent Massaro newborn son of one of their members. Thank you for thinking of the Center in the midst of the loss of Joshua.
On Saturday, March 17th Amy Kane, Fayette PRC Clothes Closet Coordinator, was assisted by a group from Fayetteville First Baptist Church in our seasonal clothes changeover. Thank you to Joanne Christian (third from left), Fayette PRC volunteer and member of FFBC, for arranging the missions service project.
On Sunday, March 18th, Luci along with FPRC Community Relations Coordinator, Loren Williams, hosted a display table for Sanctity of Human Life Sunday at Dogwood Church. We are grateful for the support of our ministry that day–which included showing our video, encouragement by the pastor to visit our table, and a special offering for FPRC—and of the message in support of the sanctity of human life. Pastor Keith Moore delivered an inspiring and passionate message on the evil of abortion balanced with compassion for those in need of God’s forgiveness for a past abortion. Because of Dogwood’s promotion of our Volunteer Training class in their email newsletter, we had three church members attend our Volunteer Training Class! On Sanctity of Human Life Sunday at Dogwood, we had the highest number of people ever on one visit to sign our interest registry. Two people who were visiting Dogwood that day called us later to volunteer because the message moved them to take action.
On Tuesday, March 20th, a group from the Goodwin-McCullough WMU of Fayetteville First Baptist Church paid a visit to Fayette PRC and helped organize donations in our clothes closet. We have a long relationship with the Goodwin-McCullough group and appreciate Jeannette Ballard arranging the service project. Amy is pictured with Norma McMurry, Janette Ballard, Bonny Campbell and Brenda Arnett.
On Wednesday, March 21st, Fayette PRC Client Advocate Lois Caputo awarded certificates and new cribs to the completers of our bi-monthly parenting class.
On March 22nd, members from Living Faith Fellowship answered our call for help in preparing a mailing for our Spring to Life Gala. We are so grateful for the leadership and support of Pastor Chris Perkins. Jean Collins (L), Fayette PRC staffer, is shown with Pastor Chris and others from Living Faith having a laugh as they worked through the afternoon.
