On August 1st Loren Williams, Community Relations Coordinator, and Amy Kane, Administrative Assistant, went to Helping Mamas Diaper Bank to get car seats and other baby supplies for our Earn While You Learn program participants.
On August 7th Niki Garner, Nurse Manager, taught a breastfeeding class to new and expecting moms and taught them about breastfeeding basics, the benefits of breastfeeding, and more.
On August 19th Angela Weeks, Office Manager, taught our quarterly Child Safety Class. We had participants attend and learn about car seat safety, SIDS, postpartum depression and more. At the end of the class they were given brand new car seats for their babies courtesy of Helping Mama’s Diaper Bank in Norcross.
On August 22nd – Lisa Lowther from Midwest Food Bank came for a tour of the Center and to learn more about the services we offer our community. We appreciate the support of Midwest and the resources they give us to help families in our community.
Luci Hough was invited by Pastor Josh Saefkow to speak at Flat Creek Baptist Church on August 25th. Luci’s testimony was part of the Pastor’s presentation on abortion, one of the topics in his Sunday evening series called “Asking for a Friend.”
FPRC Client Advocates gathered on August 26th for their monthly continuing education training. The August topic, Pregnancy Crisis Intervention, was presented by volunteer Kim Ketola.
On August 28th Amy Kane and Marci Carr, Clothes Closet Coordinator, went to Midwest Food Bank for our monthly pickup of items to benefit the families we serve.
Also on August 28th – The Daughters of The Holy Cross from All Saints Anglican Church, pictured with our Administrative Assistant, Amy, heard our call for diapers and wipes. These are the items collected during their “diaper shower” which they held in the month of August. Thank you Daughters of The Holy Cross for your support and donation!
