In early December, Loren Williams picked up the regular monthly donation of hand-made blankets and quilts from Shirley Avery with Project Linus.   Shirley and the other talented Project Linus members create beautiful blankets which are treasured by our clients.

On December 4th, Billy Padgett made a presentation at Fayette PRC explaining the Hands Free Georgia legislation regarding cell phone usage while driving. Attendees were challenged to pay attention to their driving and avoid distractions of any kind. Compliance with the new law is important but protecting their precious passengers from auto accidents is an even great goal for moms with babies and small children. We had great feedback on the class and appreciate having Billy Padgett as a guest speaker.

On December 4, Tammy Powell with BB&T in Fayetteville, visited the Center for a tour and to tell us about their Lighthouse project to support community nonprofits.   We look forward to working with them in the New Year.

Our annual Volunteer Appreciation Christmas Luncheon was held on December 7th at Living Faith Fellowship. We are grateful for Living Faith Fellowship opening their doors for this event and for our wonderful volunteers who enjoyed getting together. Volunteers were recognized for their service, and Barbara Warfel was honored for serving since FPRC opened in 1994. Lois Caputo received the “Above and Beyond” award for her outstanding service to the Center. Fayette PRC co-founder and volunteer Phyllis Avrit and volunteer Debbie Ragsdale were also honored for their special contributions to the Center.

On December 11th, our staff completed Making Life Disciples, a six-part DVD curriculum to equip followers of Jesus to offer compassion, hope, help, and discipleship to women and men considering abortion. We learned a lot and intend this for use in volunteer training as well as distribution to churches. Everyone can be a Life Disciple!

On December 11, Amy Kane and Loren went to our second donation pick up at Midwest Food Bank.   In November, we were happy to be approved to receive their donations.   They provided a large donation of formula, diapers, baby food, wipes and more.   We are so glad that we will be able to pick up new supplies monthly and deeply appreciate the support of Midwest.

Several from our staff and board attended the wedding on December 16th of our Nurse Manager, Niki Mixon, to Adam Garner. The wedding was held at the chapel of A Better Way Ministries in Senoia.  It was a great experience to meet and worship with other believers from this great ministry.  Congratulations to Niki and Adam!
