On October 1st Loren Williams, Community Relations Coordinator, attended the groundbreaking for the New Fayetteville City Hall and City Center Park.
Fayette PRC held its third Volunteer Training Class of 2019 on October 4th and 5th . Our training involved an overview of the services offered at our Center and included presentations by Debbie Ragsdale, Luci Hough, Niki Garner, Phyllis Avrit, Susan Stohrer, Angela Weeks, Kim Ketola, and Mary Gray (Pregnancy Counselor with Lifeline Children’s Services). On, October 4th Loren picked up the $1000 gift certificate that we earned as a recipient of their Community Outreach Program that we used as a silent auction item for our Golf4Life Tournament.
On October 6th, “Benjamin” traveled to First Baptist Church Peachtree City for our first church visit. Pastor Mark Matson welcomed Niki Garner and Luci Hough during both services and encouraged everyone to tour “Benjamin” and support Fayette PRC. We are grateful for Cindy Clough, FPRC Volunteer, who kept the van open during the services. Cindy is shown with a potential new volunteer and her family! Fayette PRC Volunteer Tamara Glass brought her family by for a tour. We are also grateful for Niki’s husband, Adam Garner, and his help on our visits to churches.
Grace Church hosted “Benjamin” on October 13th. Phyllis Avrit was at the ministry table while Niki Garner gave tours.
Rain on October 19th didn’t keep Niki from taking “Benjamin” to Peachtree City Church of Christ for their annual Giveaway Day. Volunteer Wendy Harrigan and Luci Hough joined Niki at our ministry table to greet shoppers. We were happy to see some families who are familiar to everyone at the Center. Thank you to Christy McCullough of PTC Church of Christ and FPRC Volunteer RDMS for inviting us to join the fun. Niki and Wendy are shown at our ministry table. Cindy Pafford, Marketing Coordinator with An Open Door Adoption Agency, visited Fayette PRC on October 23rd and brought us up to date on what is going on at Open Door. Cindy (ctr) is shown with Angela Weeks (L) and Luci Hough (R).
On October 27th Redemption Fellowship Church held its annual Tailgate Party after the church service, and “Benjamin” was there! Dr. Frank and Mrs. Alesia Brown, both Fayette PRC Volunteers, were busy encouraging tailgaters to tour “Benjamin” and get information about our Center. We are grateful to have been one of the ministries featured and to have met some new partners with a passion for life.
Loren Williams, Community Relations Coordinator, and Luci Hough attended the FACTOR luncheon meeting on Monday, October 28th, where attendees interacted with other agency leaders and Fayette elected officials. (If Loren submitted this, use her description)
On Monday evening, October 28th, Emily Griffin of Lifeline Children’s Services, presented the annual adoption training for pregnancy centers who receive funds from Choose Life Georgia. This was the October Supplemental Training for our volunteers, and we were happy to welcome Emily to our Center again.
On October 29th Marci Carr, Clothes Closet Coordinator, and Amy Kane, Administrative Assistant, went to Midwest Foodbank for our monthly pickup of items.
