On Saturday, September 7th , a group from Sandy Creek Baptist Church assisted with our semi-annual seasonal change in our clothes closet. We are grateful for the help! Later that day, Marci Carr (Clothes Closet Coordinator) and Amy Kane (Administrative Assistant) picked up generous donations from Consigning Closets in Newnan.

 

 

In preparation for our arrival of our Mobile Medical Unit named “Benjamin” the grandparents of baby Benjamin, Peggy and Dan Wojtowicz, toured the Center on September 10th.  Peggy has many years of experience as a volunteer and shepherding home host with Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center in Aiken, SC. After the tour, Niki Garner and Luci Hough joined Benjamin’s grandparents, parents and siblings for dinner.

 

On September 11th  some of Fayette PRC staff members had dinner after the MMU celebration with Ashley and Jim Murray, Benjamin’s parents,  and little Ethan (Benjamin’s twin).

 

 

On September 12th Luci Hough attended the Real Life Center “Boots and Bling” Gala and congratulated Executive Director on another successful event for Real Life Center.

 

On September 17 Loren Williams, Community Relations Coordinator, attended the Fayette County Expo.   She spoke with grantor Coweta Fayette EMC, met grant coordinator with Sams Club and visited booths and spoke with: Real Life Center, New Hope, Healing Bridge Clinic, etc.  This was a great way to connect with nonprofits and businesses in our county.

 

Mobile Medical Unit drivers, nurses, and PRC staff met on September 18th  for training on maintaining and operating our Mercedes Sprinter Van, Benjamin. We are grateful for Save the Storks providing excellent trainers, Mike and Penny Dziolek.

 

On September 19th – Linda Brown, executive director of LaVie Pregnancy Center in Lexington, SC, spent the day with our staff. We enjoyed exchanging information about our Centers and encouraging one another.

 

On September 23 Loren Williams attended the monthly Fayette FACTOR meeting.   FACTOR works to educate nonprofits and help them to collaborate to meet the needs in our county.    Representatives of Real Life, Promise Place, Midwest Food Bank, DFACS and Fayette Senior Services held a panel discussion of the currents trends among those in need in our county .

 

We held our monthly  Volunteer Supplemental Training on September 23rd. Phyllis Avrit was the presenter this month, and her topic was “Fresh Start: Presenting Abstinence.”

 

On September 25th four mom’s (three pictured) completed the last of the 3 session Parenting Class that allows them to get a brand new crib and mattress for their baby.
