Sanctity of Human Life Sunday commemorates the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Roe  v. Wade (January 22, 1973) that legalized abortion on demand in our country. It is a day to mourn the loss of nearly 60 million babies, to pray for the unborn, and to reach out to those who deeply regret their participation in abortion with God’s offer of forgiveness and healing.

President Donald Trump proclaimed Monday, January 22, “National Sanctity of Human Life Day.” In President Trump’s proclamation, he states: “Today, we focus our attention on the love and protection each person, born and unborn, deserves regardless of disability, gender, appearance, or ethnicity. Much of the greatest suffering in our Nation’s history — and, indeed, our planet’s history — has been the result of disgracefully misguided attempts to dehumanize whole classes of people based on these immutable characteristics. We cannot let this shameful history repeat itself in new forms, and we must be particularly vigilant to safeguard the most vulnerable lives among us. This is why we observe National Sanctity of Human Life Day: to affirm the truth that all life is sacred, that every person has inherent dignity and worth, and that no class of people should ever be discarded as ‘non-human.'”

Nineteen local churches distributed bulletin inserts on January 21st provided by Fayette PRC and two churches will be observing a special day for the unborn in March. Our theme this year is Let Life Shine! We also provided a video highlighting the Light of the world and the work of our pregnancy center. Thank you to all the churches where Sanctity of Human Life Sunday was observed. We were grateful to have provided speakers from Fayette PRC for services at the following churches:

Flat Creek Baptist – Luci Hough

Fayetteville Christian – Susan Stohrer

Harvest Baptist Tabernacle – David Conley

Living Faith Fellowship – Debbie Ragsdale

Redemption Fellowship – Alesia Brown

Woolsey Baptist – Maggie Smith
